Project #8: Pop Art
Due Date: Friday, March 30th
Students will be given a grace period, where they can turn it in on the Monday after spring break on April 9th.
The following is due:
1. Picture the student retrieved from the internet with a grid overlay (on paper on present from cell phone)
2. Enlarged pencil/lead drawing the student has created by using the same grid as above (no color).
Grid line are FAINT or LIGHT!
Go to the Gallery Page (button at top of page) to see the best projects submitted in the past!
Goal: Enlarge and duplicate a commercial image.
1. Choose one commercially created image from a logo, label, iconic figure, anime, or comic book.
Students may not use shirt/clothing designs and may not use existing pop art.
2. Create a grid (squares not rectangles) on that image:
A. Use cell phone only and an app (see video below)
B. Print out the image and draw the grid on that paper
C. Draw grid on the image. For example if it's a popcorn box, the student would cut the front of the cardboard box out and draw the grid on that cut out.
3. On a blank sheet of paper, recreate the grid (squares not rectangles) from step two. Each square on your new grid should be at least twice as large as your original grid.
4. Recreate an enlarged sketch of the image on the grid you created on the blank sheet of paper.
All rough drafts will NOT have a rubric. All rough draft grades can be improved by earning an A on the final project.
If a student earns a 70% on their rough draft, & then earns a 94% on their final, then their rough draft grade will be raised to 94% as well.
